• Holder of three Master’s degrees:

    • MBA in fiscal studies –from Bath University (UK)

    • International customs law and administration from Canberra University (Australia)

    • International revenue administration from Canberra University (Australia)

  • Holds a diploma in business studies from ICM College (UK)

  • Pursuing a Phd in International Trade with Lusaka University Zambia.

  • A Zimbabwe Liberation war Hero

  • Career began with the then Zimbabwe Customs and Excise Department in 1981 – February up to 2000

  • Moved to work for one year as lead consultant in developing the COMESA customs union legal framework and law (August 2001 to November 2002)

  • Moved to work for Seven years as customs and trade facilitation expert and adviser for SADC regional integration program (PTA), SADC customs Union legal framework, SADC Trade facilitation program and Border efficiency management, the SADC, COMESA and EAC tripartite regional integration program and reform, modernization of the SADC customs and Tax administrations, EU- SADC,COMESA EPA. (December 2002 to December 2009)

  • Moved to work as consultant and advisor  for ZIMRA Modernization and drafted the ZIMRA modernization blueprint June 2010 to January 2011

  • Joined ZIMRA in May 2011 to May 2015 and reestablished/set up  the Customs Division as Commissioner responsible

  • Redeployed to Domestic taxes division as commissioner responsible in 2015

  • Appointed ZIMRA Acting Commissioner General from 7 May 2016 to January 2018. Turned around the fortunes of ZIMRA from not-meeting of revenue/fiscal targets to surpassing revenue/fiscal targets within 6 months of assumption of duty a record not experienced in the past 4 years (since 2013). Brought ZIMRA to its rails.

  • Was reassigned to Customs and Excise from February 2018 to present.
